Part-Time (28 hours / week)
Location: Durham, North Carolina

Job Description: The Assistant Program Director will manage high quality direct food services to families with a focus on managing logistics in the warehouse and food pack areas. This position will maintain food inventory and manage distribution (1.5 million pounds food / year) and food area budget; oversee storage / safe handling procedures for food in accordance with standards set by agreements with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC (FBCENC) and the Interfaith Food Shuttle (IFFS); and lead volunteers daily (20-25 volunteers) in conjunction with the Daily Food Lead volunteers (3-5) /Warehouse volunteers (2-5).

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience; must possess written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diversity of people from different ethnic backgrounds, skill sets and ages; must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task; demonstrated strong customer service, volunteer coordination and project management; proven computer skills including Word, Excel and other appropriate applications; ability to / willingness to learn to drive an air-brake box truck and forklift; must be able to lift 50+ pounds; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings and practices and the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh; valid NC Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use; authorized to work in the U.S.

*Job responsibilities may involve travel and some work beyond the regularly scheduled workdays, i.e., weekends and evenings as scheduled, and as needed.
