Thank you for joining Catholic Charities for the 3rd Annual “Drive Out Hunger” Golf Outing yesterday! As in past years, the funds raised at this event support the five food pantries operated throughout the Diocese of Raleigh. This year, the success of the outing was even more critical due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the additional food needs throughout the community.

Your generosity and the support of our many sponsors and 160 golfers who joined us at Prestonwood Country Club made the 2020 outing an incredible success!

Over $59,000 was raised to advance our goal of ending food insecurity!

Despite the heat and new COVID-19 restrictions, fun was had by all and a massive amount of love was shown for our neighbors in need. Below is the list of tournament, contest, raffle and silent auction winners. Each winner will be contacted separately to coordinate prizes.

COVID-19 Updates

Important Updates:

Due to COVID-19, Catholic Charities has been closely following guidance from the CDC and the regulations of the State of North Carolina, as well as working with Prestonwood Country Club, to ensure a safe environment for our golfers, volunteers and staff during the “Drive Out Hunger” Golf Outing.

Below are the new protocols that will be followed for this year’s event to avoid large gatherings and improve the safety of everyone involved.

Tee times will be used instead of a shotgun start. Tee times for each foursome will be scheduled in 10 minute increments between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. Golfers will receive their assigned tee time via email.

The practice facilities will open at 8:00 am, but golfers are asked to arrive no earlier than 60 minutes prior to their tee time.

Golf carts will be assigned with golfers sharing carts with another member of their foursome. If any golfers are uncomfortable riding with another person, there will be extra carts available for single rider use.

There will be no banquet dinner following the tournament. A light breakfast will be available at check-in and lunch will be served on the course. Beverages and snacks will also be available on the course throughout the day.

After the round, golfers will turn their scorecards in to Prestonwood staff. All winners will be announced via email on Tuesday, July 28.

As in past years, the outing will include a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and opportunities to purchase mulligans. In addition, there will be a long drive pro on each course “helping” foursomes with their driving skills. All auction and raffle winners will also be announced via email on Tuesday, July 28.
