Maty Ferrer Hoppmann has been the program director of Centro para Familias Hispanas since 2015. She has over 10 years of experience working for Non-Profits serving vulnerable communities in Wake County. She serves on various committees in the County representing the voice of the Hispanic community. She has a passion to serve and inspire her clients and feels blessed to be able to serve and make a difference in people’s lives each day. She holds a Master’s Degree in Physical education and lives in Raleigh with her family and beloved dog J.J.

Berta Rice (Bilingual)- Family Case Manager

Berta Rice is the Family Case Manager of Centro para Familias Hispanas. By working for different organizations, she has acquired years of experience serving families of different ethnic groups and backgrounds. Being able to help and serve the community is one of her passions, and to make a difference in someone’s life is very rewarding to her. Berta holds a BA degree in Spanish from Towson University in Maryland. She loves dogs, reading books that help her grow spiritually and leave a positive message, and she likes being in contact with nature.

Laura Tirado is a Parent Educator and a Family Case Manager with many years of experience. She joined CpFH back in 2009 and has been a great advocate for children and their families. She is passionate about the work she does, and she takes pleasure in making sure that young children receive the support and resources they need before they start school. Laura enjoys serving children and their families along with other members in the community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Laura is also a book enthusiast who enjoys reading.

Luisa Martin-Price (Bilingual)- Full Accredited DOJ Representative

Luisa Martin-Price has been with Catholic Charities since November 2016 and currently serves as Fully Accredited DOJ Representative. She has volunteered for CpFH on and off since 2000. She currently serves as the chair of the Justice for Immigrants Ministry for Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh. Luisa has a B.S degree in Education in Mathematics and Physics from the Universidad Católica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela and is certified to teach in NC schools. She became a U.S. Citizen in 2008, is fluent in Spanish and English, and has dedicated herself to helping immigrants. Her favorite hobby is playing bridge and going hiking with her husband and dog. She is a proud mother of two adult children.

David Rohrer- Immigration Services DOJ Accredited Representative

David joined the Immigration Legal Services program in April 2021, having volunteered with Catholic Charities for five years. Previously he spent 30 years in finance and IT management working for Black & Decker and GlaxoSmithKline. David is thrilled to be part of an organization that provides help and creates hope while respecting the dignity of those with few resources. In addition, he enjoys using Spanish and working cross-culturally, working in an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration, and learning the intricacies of immigration law. Most important of all, Catholic Charities provides David the opportunity to give back to society, to work for social justice, and to be inspired by the deep faith of others.

Marlene Obregon Montsinger

Marlene Obregon Montsinger – Intake Specialist

Marlene has a Bachelor in Spanish Language and Literature from NCSU as well as a Graduate Certificate in Translations from UNCC. Before Centro para Familias Hispanas, she worked as a freelance interpreter. She became involved with CpFH through volunteer work and continues to serve her community in her official role as Intake Specialist. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, she moved to Durham in 1997. She now resides in Raleigh with her husband and son.
