As the Regional Director, Jeremy oversees Catholic Charities’ programs and services in the Piedmont area. These include the Durham Community Food Pantry, Joseph G. Vetter Family Enrichment Center, and Centro La Comunidad. Jeremy was originally acquainted with Catholic Charities by serving as an AmeriCorps member at Centro La Comunidad while he was an undergraduate. After completing a master’s degree at the University of Chicago, he returned to direct Centro La Comunidad and, later, the nine-county Piedmont region. During his time at Catholic Charities, Jeremy has also represented the agency by serving on and chairing multiple boards and committees as an advocate for underserved and underrepresented communities.

Jonathan joined the Centro La Comunidad team in 2021. As an AmeriCorps member, Jonathan’s primary role is to help people search for, apply for, and obtain jobs. He also assists families and individuals to address their needs and connect them with other agencies and resources. Jonathan is a college student pursuing a degree in business administration and marketing.

Cecilia is the Immigration Assistant at Centro La Comunidad. Cecilia graduated from North Carolina Central University with bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations. She started her journey with Catholic Charities in 2021, having previously worked at Durham Early Head Start and El Centro Hispano.

Daisy graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in healthcare. In her time at Queens University, Daisy was awarded a grant from the Rogers Summer Institute of Research and Creative Works to research child parentification in first-generation Latino families. She was also a Health and Humanities intern at Novant Health, where she conducted research and developed a health intervention program.
