New Office Opens in Greenville

On Wednesday evening, July 22, 2015, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge blessed the new regional office of Catholic Charities for the Tar River Deanery. Oak City Outreach says “thank you” to its partners

On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Oak City Outreach Center (OCOC) in downtown Raleigh held a thank-you event for the supporters of the center, specifically the City of Raleigh and the partner agency food providers and volunteers. Local dignitaries, volunteers, donors, and all Raleigh Deanery priests were invited to the event. The center, which provides three meals a day on Saturdays and Sundays, opened in June 2014. At the June Catholic Charities Board of Directors meeting, Mrs. Mary Ellen Gustainis was named as the new Board Chair.  Mrs. Gustainis is replacing current Board Chair, Mr. Bruce D. Families Impacted by March Scaffolding Accident Receive Assistance

On Monday, March 23rd, three individuals were killed and one was injured when the scaffolding equipment they were working on collapsed at a construction site in downtown Raleigh. Following the accident, there was an outpouring of support from the community to help the families who were impacted by this tragic accident. In the weeks and months following the event, Catholic Charities collected nearly $60,000 in donations.
