El Centro para Familias Hispanas was honored to welcome Bishop Rafael Zarama for the final class of The Language is the Key program which teaches parents how to read to their children. The 9th Annual Catholic Charities Gala provided the opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the work of Catholic Charities while also providing vital funding to foster continued growth. The theme of the evening was “Be the Light” and the committed individuals who supported the Catholic Charities Gala certainly were a light for their community. Catholic Charities Remembers George Quigley, a Dedicated Supporter of Catholic Charities

Over the weekend. long time supporter of Catholic Charities, George Quigley, passed away. Mr. Quigley, was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, a former member of the Catholic Charities board, and dedicated volunteer in the Catholic Charities Fayetteville Office for more than 20 years. In 2014, Mr. Quigley received the Bishop F. Joseph Gossman Community Leadership and Service Award for his work giving back to the community as a volunteer. Chance Meeting Leads to Long Term Recovery from Hurricane Florence

From the September / October Edition of NC Catholics The coast is famous for its palm trees. Turns out that a new partnership — dubbed the Sharing Tree — is a special addition as well. Durham Community Food Pantry in Action

It’s 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the time when doors to the Durham Community Food Pantry open to the public. Inside, dozens of volunteers are eager to help families.
