New Partnership with the Diaper Bank of North Carolina Announced

Catholic Charities is excited to announce that they are partnering with the Diaper Bank of North Carolina to help ensure families are able to provide a healthy home environment for the children.  Through this partnership, the Catholic Charities Cape Fear Regional Office in Wilmington will serve as a distribution site for diapers.  Emilie Hart, the Cape Fear Regional Director explained, “We have provided diapers from this office in the past.  However, this new partnership will allow us to greatly increase the number of families we are able to assist.” Families… Read More

Mujer Preparate para el Exito (Women, get ready for success) Conference Hosted by Catholic Charities

Centro para Familias Hispanas (CpFH), in partnership with Centro Internacional de Raleigh, hosted the “Mujer Preparate para el Exito” (Woman, get ready for success) conference on Saturday November 7th.  This event was organized due to the limited number of events that are offered to promote leadership and provide needed information in Spanish for Hispanic women who want to be entrepreneurs.  Maty Ferrer, Director of CpFH explained that “We wanted to create a spacewhere women, especially Latino women, could come and feel safe to share and feel empowered, motivated, and important.”… Read More

Catholic Charities receives Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) Funding

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh has received a grant from the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) to increase its capacity for high quality charitable legal immigration services in eastern North Carolina. In response to a growing need for community-based legal immigration services, Catholic Charities will use these funds to hire a CLINIC Fellow, who will provide legal assistance. Newton Grove Office Blessing

Catholic Charities will celebrate the blessing of the Newton Grove Regional Catholic Charities Office in Goldsboro by Bishop Michael F. Burbidge on Monday October 26th at 4:30 p.m. A light reception will follow the event. The Newton Grove Regional office serves the community by providing: services to help families develop economic self-sufficiency; programming to ensure family health and safety; mental health counseling; and immigration services.  Catholic Charities also coordinates adoption, disaster, and pregnancy services across the Diocese of Raleigh.  Services are available from fully bilingual and bicultural staff members. Job Interview Prep Event in Greenville a Big Success

On Friday August 7th, the Catholic Charities Tar River Regional Office in Greenville hosted a Job Interview Preparation Event. Regional Director Monica Raynor noted that, “This was a new type of event for us in Greenville. New Clothing Closet and Food Pantry Open in Hertford Office

The Catholic Charities Regional Office in Hertford is now offering a new service, a Clothing Closet and Food Pantry. Monica Raynor, Albemarle Regional Director, explains why this new service is being provided. “There is a lot of unmet need in the community. Other service providers in the area have limited distribution times for clothing and food and it can be challenging to qualify for benefits.
