Cans for Charity raises more than 3OO food items for Catholic Charities

It was a balmy evening on Friday, July 29th for the Catholic Charities Cans for Charity event with the Carolina Mudcats.  This was the second game of the two part “Pitch in for Charity” series that Catholic Charities organized over the summer. Triangle Flooding Response

Severe storms, which delivered excessive rainfall in parts of Wake and Durham Counties in mid-July caused flash floods that forced more than a hundred families out of their homes. In response to the flooding, the American Red Cross opened a shelter for four days at Hillside High School in Durham, to assist families with lodging and food. Cans for Charity at Carolina Mudcats Game

Catholic Charities wins at Durham Bulls game

Catholic Charities has teamed up with the Durham Bulls and Carolina Mudcats baseball teams this summer for two special fundraising nights. The first event took place on Monday, June 20, with approximately 500 people from throughout the diocese attending the Durham Bulls vs. Charlotte Knights baseball game in Durham.
