We are excited to host this event at The Harrelson Center, both a partner organization and location that has been instrumental in the growth of the Catholic Charities Cape Fear Regional Office. Our office moved to the Harrelson Center in 2015 and has greatly benefitted from partnering with other non-profits at the center and from the support offering by The Harrelson Center staff
Jo Ann Carter Harrelson Center Inc. is a North Carolina nonprofit corporation that supports and partners with other nonprofit organizations in the Wilmington community. The Center works with its partners to meet the needs of the community in areas such as safe and affordable housing, education, employment, health care and family support. The Center recognizes the critical needs of others and encourages, uplifts and assists them in rebuilding their lives through the services provided in the center.
The Center provides its nonprofit partners social and educational opportunities, marketing and promotions, volunteer recruitment and a place of collaboration for them to help those in need in our community. The center supports its partners with below-market rental rates that cover all utilities, parking and security. This synergistic environment allows all the nonprofits to operate more efficiently and better utilize their funding.

1 in 4 children and 1 in 12 seniors face food insecurity in North Carolina
Accessibility: Increase access to nutritious food by expanding existing Traditional, Choice, and Mobile Food Pantry operations.
160,000 individuals will receive healthy groceries each year | 16 mobile pantries conducted per month.
Education: Empower families to maintain healthier lives through nutrition focused educational programs and developing and maintaining local gardens.
2,000 individuals will benefit from nutrition focused educational programs | 80 garden opportunities created each year.
Sustainability: Create sustainable funding for mobile food pantries through a business enterprise.
120 events per year | 12,00 customers per year.
The Nourishing Our Neighbors Campaign is looking for individuals and organizations to build upon our past success and join us in creating new, exciting, and innovative solutions to address food insecurity.
