The Healthy Opportunities Pilots (HOP) is the nation’s first comprehensive program to test and evaluate the impact of providing select evidence-based, non-medical interventions related to housing, food, transportation and interpersonal safety and toxic stress to high-needs Medicaid enrollees.
Since launching in 2022, the HOP program has been successful at saving money, improving the health of members, and improving the economic healthy of local communities. However, right now, lawmakers in Raleigh are working on the state budget, but they’ve left funding for HOP out of the budget. As a community, we need to come together and let lawmakers hear our voices so they know how important HOP is and that it needs to be included in the budget.
