The Catholic Charities Family Advancement Services (FAS) Program assists families with Housing Assistance, Economic Sustainability, and Health and Wellness Services. The goal of the FAS Program is to help families achieve, or move closer to, self-sufficiency and more stable lives.
Housing Assistance within the FAS Program helps families maintain safe and stable housing by providing financial assistance for rent and utility payments. In some offices, case management services are also available where staff collaboratively work with clients to assess their situation, develop goals to overcoming barriers to self-sufficiency, and support them in achieving those goals.
Through the Economic Sustainability within the FAS Program, individuals work with staff to improve their economic mobility and maintain a stable living situation. Examples of ways that staff work with clients include, but are not limited to: providing financial literacy courses, guiding individuals through the employment search process, assisting in establishing personal budget goals, and providing education for improving English language skills.
Through Health and Wellness within the FAS Program, individuals can access clinical counseling, nutrition courses, and financial assistance for prescriptions. These resources create meaningful change in the lives of clients through the improvement of their physical and mental health.
All Family Advancement Services are tailored to the needs and available resources of the local communities served by Catholic Charities regional offices, with available services varying from office to office.
