Job Description: The Construction Manager (CM) will be responsible for the repair of homes damaged by Hurricane Florence. The majority of the CM role will be to complete repairs themselves. A portion of the job will also include providing construction supervision to volunteers as they participate in the NC Catholics Volunteer program (NCCV).

The CM will interact with subcontractors and homeowners throughout the repair process. The CM will manage costs for each project, perform quality control management within homes and on jobsites, and maintain OSHA and EPA compliant job sites.

On volunteer days, the CM will work with the NCCV volunteer coordinator to ensure an excellent experience for the volunteers. The CM will identify projects, instruct volunteers on how to complete their tasks for the day, and provide safety supervision.

Required Qualifications: Associates or other 2-year degree; proven working experience in construction management; proven working experience in construction management; knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods; expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards; ability to plan and see the “big picture”; ability to teach volunteers; leadership and human resources management skills; excellent time and project management skills; proven computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings and practices and the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh; valid NC Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use; authorized to work in the U.S.

*No General Contractor license needed.

*Job responsibilities will involve travel and work beyond the regularly scheduled workdays, i.e., weekends and evenings as scheduled.
