Thank you for visiting this page to learn about volunteering opportunities with Catholic Charities. Each of our seven regions has specific needs and services which can be fulfilled by volunteers. All of our services work with poor and vulnerable families of all faith traditions, quite a few of whom have Spanish as their first language. Volunteers are vital to our services, especially in the areas of office clerical/receptionist tasks and our Emergency Assistance programs. Some of the tasks might be: answering phones and responding with care in an initial conversation with families, stocking shelves with food, organizing donated clothing, entering data of services provided into our data system, organizing logistics for food donations and food distribution.
We also are able to work with and train some volunteers to assist with our Family Support Services
programming. Responsibilities in this program area might include: conducting screening interviews with client families to help them identify specific needs, assisting a young mother to develop a resumé, assisting Catholic Charities staff during parenting or English as a Second Language classes.
