We work in many ways to educate, prevent, identify and serve families who are coping with violence in their homes.
- We hold community education and training on Domestic Violence and Family Violence
- We provide anger management workshops, pyscho-education and counseling
- We screen families for violent or abusive situations in their home
In situations of family violence, abuse or neglect:
- We work with families to develop parenting strategies which will eliminate violent interactions
- We provide parenting classes
- We work with families as they are involved with Child Protective Services
In situations of domestic violence or abuse:
- We develop Safety Plans with families
- We support families as they get services from a Domestic Violence agency, including making sure that their need for safe shelter is met
- In Durham, we provide treatment for the perpetrator of physical abuse through our CHANGE program
