The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge has announced the appointment of eleven people to the Catholic Charities Board of Directors. Three of the appointees have previously served on the Board and bring with them an institutional perspective.

In making the announcement, Bishop Burbidge noted the selections were based on the experience and background of each individual and their passion and commitment to serving the poor and most vulnerable.

“The new board will represent the diversity inherent within our Diocese,” Bishop Burbidge said. “It will be a Board which builds upon the good work that has been accomplished by Catholic Charities in the past.”

The mission of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Raleigh is “to respond to the Gospel mandates of Our Lord Jesus by performing the Corporal Works of Mercy.”

Catholic Charities Executive Director Gary Skinner said he looks forward to working with the new members of Catholic Charities Board. “The diversity of experiences and the great enthusiasm of incoming members will serve Catholic Charities very well. I wish to express my gratitude to the new Board members for being willing to serve the Diocese and the poor and vulnerable families who live in our communities.”
